Hey everyone, I’ve been using my MTD push mower for a couple of seasons now, and it's been running smoothly. However, I recently noticed that the engine is sputtering a bit, especially when I throttle up. I’ve changed the oil and cleaned the air filter, but the issue persists. Any suggestions on what might be causing this and how I can fix it? Also, I’m looking for a detailed maintenance manual to ensure I’m not missing anything.

I had a similar issue last year with my MTD mower. It turned out that the carburetor was clogged, causing the sputtering. I cleaned it thoroughly, and the problem was resolved. Also, for maintenance manuals, you can find them on the official MTD Parts website https://manuals.online/mtd. They offer downloadable operator's manuals for various models. Just enter your model number, and you should be able to access the manual you need.

It's always a good idea to check the spark plug as well. A worn or dirty spark plug can cause engine misfires. Replacing it might solve the sputtering issue. Also, if you haven't done so recently, consider draining the fuel tank and replacing the fuel with fresh gasoline. Old fuel can cause starting and running problems.
